Fancy Toad in the hole
Toad in the holes as we call them are a family favorite! Cut a hole into a piece of bread, crack an egg and MAGIC!! It brings up memories of Saturday mornings and mornings camping and at our family cabin. As a kid it was an easy way to flip an egg and not break the yolk. As an adult it is the perfect bite of bread and yoke.
This dish does not need an upgrade but when presented with some left overs I just could not resist combining the “toad in the hole” with a Pate Grilled Cheese, because a fried egg does make everything better!
I simply just spread the pate, added some manchego cheese, used a biscuit cutter to get the perfect hole and grilled with my egg. What a perfect breakfast treat for a Saturday morning. Don’t like Pate, just do a grilled cheese or maybe add some turkey and avocado. #treatyourself
